The following quote is being re-printed from pages 223 and 224 of The Everlasting, Book of the Fantastical, and describes Orcs as the humanoid servants of evil (although they will be allowed as Protagonists, but only as those who have broken away from under the reign of evil, although they may still be vile and uncouth):
Orcs are an ancient race of humanoid creatures created by three mad and evil wizards within another world. The orcs were created for use as an army of expendable thralls. They unspeakable pain and horror that were involved in the creation of the first generation of orcs tore from them all remnants of conscience, love, and beauty. After a few generations, the early orcs developed the strength and barbaric features their masters desired in them, including cruel and murderous instincts.
The orcs survived the death of their masters and spread out across their world and eventually the earth. They developed their own cultures, language, and religions. Tribes formed and later gathered into orkish nations. Underground complexes were built and later grew into massive series of dungeon-like subterranean lairs.
Orcs are known in fantasy fiction as the most evil and savage of the humanoid races, and the truth is the same as the fiction. The orkish people have always been warlike, cunning, cruel, and inhuman. Their religion is based on the worship of dark forces, particularly demons. Even in modern times the orcs remain the same, though modern technology has made many orcs much more dangerous.
Today most orcs live secretly below the earth, but some live among humans, disguised as ordinary humans, through illusions provided by their demonic masters. Within the Reverie they look like orcs, so the other eldritch know they are out there. Orcs are smelly, primitive, and horrendously ugly creatures with long arms and squat bodies. Surface orcs are usually a little more human-like and dress in human clothes. Orcs carry poison-treated bladed weapons and guns. Many surface orcs travel around in biker gangs, with the most dominant male leading the gang.
The demons now make good use of the orcs as their minions in their war for the earth. The orcs serve as thugs, assassins, terrorists, guards, information gatherers, general lackeys, and sacrifices when necessary. More and more orcs are being drawn to the surface by their patron demons. Just as demons often do not get along with one another, different tribes of orcs do not get along with one another, as each tribe has their own patron demon. In fact, inter-tribal fighting throughout history is what has always kept the orkish population in check.
More details of the outlook and background of the Orcs and other information is available in the Everlasting, Book of the Fantastical from Visionary Entertainment Studios.
